Opportunities Advancements and Future Directions Towards Normal Birth

2013 Mothering Conference Professor Hannah Dahlen

On Friday the 19th July the School of Nursing and Midwifery proudly hosted the 2013 Mothering Conference at the Parramatta Campus.

The theme for the conference was Opportunities Advancements and Future Directions Towards Normal birth.

This was the 6th conference the midwifery team have now held and the 2013 conference was our largest and most successful by far.

We had over 200 attendees and these included, student midwives, midwives, other  UWS  academics, consumers and people from a variety of other places including the NSW Ministry for Health.

This is a wonderful way to engage with industry and show case the wonderful work going on at UWS.

We had some exceptional keynote speakers including Professor Deb Davis (The University of Canberra) and Professor Maralyn Foureur (The University of Technology, Sydney).

UWS was showcased in an outstanding way during the conference, including offering delegates tours of the midwifery labs and getting all the student midwives together from several universities to catch up at the conference.
