The Discipline of Pathology runs three courses per year as well as offering a Master of Medicine (Pathology).
From 2022 onwards all courses will be run fully online.

Master of Medicine (PATHOLOGY)
This is a two year program with conference weeks and online learning modules covering both surgical pathology and cytopathology, and is aimed to provide you with the necessary level of diagnostic knowledge to aid your successful completion of specialist training in Pathology. This program is open to both Domestic & International registrants. Please ensure you qualify to apply for this Masters course before proceeding with your application.
Surgical Pathology Course
The Western Sydney University Surgical Pathology Course runs for one week over a two year period. This course is aimed at assisting registrars in the field of anatomical pathology to gain experience for their upcoming exams and/or pathologists who wish to upgrade their skills. The course covers all systems alternating between the following:
- GI, Breast, Lymph node, Gynaecological, Head & Neck, and Paediatric Pathology
and
- Respiratory, Renal & Genitourinary including Male System, Neuropathology, Salivary gland/Endocrine and Skin & Soft Tissue Pathology.
Included in this course is a Slide Trial Exam which is held on either a Thursday or Friday morning each year.
Small Biopsy Course
The Western Sydney University Small Biopsy Course is a 2 day course offered to registrars sitting their Part II Exams. This course is aimed at preparing Anatomical Pathology Registrars sitting the post Part I FRCPA Small Biopsy.
Cytology Course
The Western Sydney Cytology Course is a 3 day course which will include lectures and a practice exam. There will be ample time to look at a multitude of slides from various organ systems incorporating gynaecological cytology (non-gynaecological) FNA and fluid cytology.
