Classifying Content in the 21st Century: What Needs to Change, and How?

Australia's National Classification Scheme for films and games is under review and one highly likely outcome the replacement of human classifiers with an online survey that would be completed by creators or distributors. Such a system has the capacity to process many more pieces of content, but how will it cope with the current classification system's (very subjective) standards? In this seminar Professor Elizabeth Handsley will outline a vision for a radical new system, and the politics of making a submission in its favour.
