About

The Religious Studies Collective is made up of researchers from the SoHCA with an interest in the study of religion. Traditionally known as  Religionswissenshaft  (“religious studies”), the study of religion involves multi-disciplinary approaches that support the wide range of SoHCA research strengths and focuses.

The Religious Studies Collective’s objective is to promote humanities-led research that will complement concentrations elsewhere across the University. A core aim of the initiative, therefore, is to facilitate a vibrant research culture for research success that will also support Higher Degree Research students presently researching or looking to undertake research on religion.

We aim to conduct the Religious Studies Collective by way of seminars, roundtables, workshops, and other interactive platforms for collegial discussion and exchange of ideas.

The Religious Studies Collective was co-founded by Dr Milad Milani (Western Sydney University) and Associate Professor Diego Bubbio (University of Turin) in 2022. Dr Milani serves as academic lead and moderator.
