Work Integrated Learning

The Bachelor of Construction Management-Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program provides students with a flexible practice-based learning opportunity aligned to industry expectations.

“WIL underpins Practice with Theory!”

Aims

Western Sydney University recognises the importance of industry participation for students as a way to prepare them holistically for their careers. WIL refers to a range of approaches and strategies that involve using projects, the workplace and community as a site and/or source for learning.

What does the Program offer?

To assist students in completing their WIL requirement, the school has introduced a new course. The course is known as, ‘Certificate of Practice’. This course is a structured course for students to participate in throughout their four-year degree. The Certificate of Practice is not mandatory. Students can opt in to reduce their 1200hr requirement. Alternatively, students are encouraged to complete the Certificate of Practice and have their achievement recognised on their transcript.

Students wanting to undertake 'voluntary' work experience that is not a requirement to pass a course/unit can contact Careers on careers@westernsydney.edu.au for additional information
