UT SS
As part of its investment with Powerhouse Parramatta, Holdmark Property Group has partnered with Western Sydney University to deliver a multi-disciplinary summer school focused on urban design, transformation, and holistic approaches to the built form.
The Urban Transformation Summer School will see students engage with a Western Sydney local council on a project to tackle real-world urban and architecture challenges. Students will generate solutions in a two week intensive 'think-tank' studio under the guidance of national and international academics and practitioners.
The inaugural Urban Transformation Summer School (UT SS) was held between 17-24 February 2023 at Parramatta Engineering and Innovation Hub (PEIH), 6 Hassall St Parramatta.

The second UT SS will be held 19 February to 1 March 2024. The 2-week program will commence on 19 February 2024, with the first week spent researching and doing site tours and analysis in Mount Druitt and the second week modelling and resolving designs in the PEIH campus. The Summer School will be offered to students in Industrial Design and Architecture resulting in an exhibition of architectural models and drawings for potential fabrication of the projects. 30 – 40 students are expected to attend the summer school and the final exhibition will be held at Western Sydney University’s Engineering Innovation Hub, 6 Hassall St, Parramatta. The exhibition opens on the evening of Weds 20 March and runs until Sun 8 April.
