Visiting Scholars Program
Western Sydney University's School of Education welcomes visiting scholars from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the research landscape of our academic community.
The School of Education offers a scholarly and inspiring program for visiting scholars to actively engage in research, share and refine their work, and foster collaborations with academic staff and higher degree research students. Visiting scholars are encouraged to contribute their expertise, insights and diverse perspectives through the creation of collaborative research with academics in the School of Education.
Pre-application
- Review School of Education Academic Profiles here
- Connect with an academic staff member in the School of Education to discuss the possibility of your visit.
- Forward your current curriculum vitae and research plan to academic staff member.
- If the academic staff member is willing to serve as your supervisor/sponsor, they will provide you with a confirmation email outlining the benefits of your visit and the expected outcomes for research and collaboration.
- Once mutual agreement is reached, your academic supervisor/sponsor will obtain approval from the Dean of Education to support your visit.
Application confirmation
You will be sent a form from the Office of the Dean of Education which you will need to complete and return to the School of Education with supporting documentation.
Once you have received your letter of offer from the School of Education outlining your next steps, it is your responsibility to determine your visa requirements and make relevant travel and accommodation arrangements. Visa information can be found through the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
Please note
- Visiting Scholars are self-funded, including visa fees.
- Visiting Scholars require an academic supervisor/sponsor from the School of Education to support their application.
- Visiting Scholars must have continuing appointments at their home university/institution.
