Read with a Wanderer

What is Read with a Wanderer?

Western Sydney University's Read with a Wanderer (RWAW) program is a literacy based program which encourages students to write a narrative on selected topics (see below) in their classroom. This can be completed in a variety of ways depending on what works best for each individual school.

Along with The School of Education, Western Sydney University, Western Sydney Wanderers is committed to literacy development in students across Western Sydney; both will support the program by assisting schools and their students to compose their stories. This competition is open to all schools in Western Sydney.

Western Sydney schools may have the opportunity to work with pre-service teachers from the Master of Teaching (Primary) program in their classrooms as writing mentors. Schools will be contacted by Western Sydney University if they are selected to have pre-service teacher support for their project.

The Western Sydney Wanderers will provide professional players to read the 'Wanderers All Star Literacy Team of the Year' winning stories.
