Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

The Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology is a three-year program accredited by the Australian Computer Society. It meets the demands of business to be competitive and to innovate in this fast-changing area. Students build strong foundational skills, and then apply these to a range of industry relevant problems and projects as part of work-integrated learning. To complete the degree, students do a major to specialise in topics, such as, cyber security, cloud computing, multimedia computing. Students also have options to do a minor. This is a challenging and rewarding degree with an ever-expanding range of employment options. This degree gives you the skills you need to become an in-demand computing professional. You will gain skills in a practice-based learning environment, be introduced to real-world project experience, and acquire a solid knowledge of ICT theory.

Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (Health Information Management)

The increasing use of electronic health records requires the accurate and efficient capture, maintenance, security and reporting of health information. This program will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to build software systems and undertake roles relating to the classification, coding and management of health information within a healthcare setting. With direct industry experience through 140 hours of work placement, the program offers students the opportunity to seek employment in health information management and/or clinical coding, recognised as workforce skills shortage areas.
Specific content areas addressed include Health Informatics, Systems Analysis and Design, Medical Terminology, Database Design and Development, Healthcare Data Environments, Clinical Classification and Coding, Programming, Web Development, Computer Networking, Health Service Management, Activity Based Funding and Data Quality and Healthcare Software and Systems.

Bachelor of Mathematics

Mathematics plays a crucial role in almost every sector of the economy. From finance to engineering, teaching, medicine and politics – mathematics is essential to model, analyse and solve problems. The essence of mathematics is the use of abstraction and logic to discover, describe and completely and unambiguously understand systems. Mathematics is essential for modelling phenomena in many fields, including science, engineering, economics, finance, medicine, and politics.
The fact that mathematicians are able to model, analyse and solve practical problems makes them highly sought after by employers. The Bachelor of Mathematics will give you a solid basis in key areas of mathematics. You also have the option of completing majors in Financial Mathematics, Data Science, or Computational Mathematics, or you can use the degree as a pathway to secondary teaching.

Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (Games Design and Simulation)

The Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (Games Design and Simulation) is an innovative approach to training the next generation of high impact entrepreneurs by providing the knowledge and developing the practical skills that make them successful. Whilst the specialist focus of the degree is game and simulation development, the program connects it with the art of entrepreneurship and guides students through all phases of their entrepreneurship journey: from forming a team to obtaining funding. Students will gain game development skills while also learning how to start a gaming company. The key emphasis of this program is on developing the mindset, risk tolerance, creativity, team formation and leadership capabilities – key characteristics of high impact entrepreneurs. Practical experience is incorporated into every semester of study, enabling students to continue working on their start-ups throughout the degree.

Bachelor of Information Systems

Today, practising professionals need to not only have knowledge and skills in computing, they also need to understand the context in which computer technology is applied in society, and be able to work collaboratively with people in all sorts of professions and industries. The Bachelor of Information Systems degree integrates closely the applications of computing and information systems in a global business environment. You will work with organisations to design, develop, deploy and manage information systems through the application of computing technology.

Students may also choose to complete a field of study out of the available fields for this program. This program is focused on getting students engaged in enquiry-based learning to acquire knowledge in established theories and recent state-of-the-art developments. Students are also expected to develop skills in problem solving and research practice and apply those skills in a professional and ethical framework to develop themselves as lifelong learners.

Master of Information Governance

Join the next generation of managers and consultants in the critical area of information governance. This degree is designed to give you the skills to meet the ever-growing demand for elective information security management, and become a leader in tomorrow’s changing information landscape. Information governance provides a framework for managing information including creating, using, sharing, storing and deleting information. This helps in ensuring appropriate behaviours and decisions around elective and efficient use of information. The Master of Information Governance provides the knowledge and skillset required for the next generation of managers and consultants that cover the technical, business and legal aspects of information governance. Students will undertake 120 hours of industry placement as a Work Integrated Learning component which is required for successful completion of this program. Possible job roles include information governance officer, information manager, information management specialist, and data protection officer.
