The School of Built Environment is home to professional disciplines of architecture, construction management, project management, building design management, building surveying, quantity surveying and industrial design as well as professional areas of fire safety engineering and bushfire protection.
Our staff and students intellectually and practically explore creative solutions to our most significant problems across areas such as sustainable urban transformation, digital industrialised environments, design-led practice, work and organisational processes and health and well being.
The School of Built Environment is internationally renowned for innovative teaching and research that is academically rigorous, creative and interdisciplinary. Our courses are professionally accredited and highly focussed on employability; yet our graduates are able to challenge and be challenged by our industry, government and university collaborators.
Our School is a national leader in built environment education, research and scholarship, with one of the largest undergraduate construction management degree courses in Australia. We have over 2,500 students in our School, yet despite our size, we provide individual attention in our teaching and learning activities. We have the newest architecture programs in Australia providing innovative learning and teaching approaches in urban transformation.
If you are interested in studying a challenging course in one of Australia's leading schools of the Built environment, take time to look at our website and if you would like further information, please contact the School and we will be able to provide you with information about our courses.
Our research is at World class standard and many of our senior staff hold prestigious ARC research grants as well as national and state grants that have high impact in industry, academic and government circles. We also have doctoral research programs where students and supervisors actively lead research studies in partnership with industry, government and academic institutions.
We are proud to be engaged in major local Western growth initiatives as well as being focussed on significant partnerships with leading international institutions.
