First Foot Forward

Years 5 - 6

Opening eyes and minds to Higher Education.

Our First Foot Forward program encourages students in Year 5 and 6 to see Higher Education as part of their future by sparking an interest in lifelong learning. Students enjoy engaging, interactive, and fun learning experiences on campus at Western Sydney University with a range of activities designed to stimulate interest in further education. The on-campus experience also gives them the chance to start imagining life as a uni student by experiencing a day at Western.

With our First Foot Forward program we aim to inspire the next generation to see their unlimited potential.

On-Campus Experiences

Each year students participating in the First Foot Forward program visit Western Sydney University campuses to see first hand what a day at uni is like.

Students tour our facilities, chat with current students, and are exposed to the buzz and excitement of campus life all while engaging in educational workshops aimed to inspire and illustrate the range of subjects, interests and careers higher education can lead to.

In-School Workshops

In addition to on-campus visits, workshops are held at participating schools to encourage students to see higher education and university studies in their future.

Run by our First Foot Forward team, students are taught how to set learning goals and achieve them, and engage in hands-on experiences that aligns to current teachings and the University.
