Elizabeth Dibbs

Elizabeth Dibbs is a Chair and Non-Executive Director in the government and for-purpose sectors. Her roles have included Deputy Chancellor of Western Sydney University, Commissioner for the Western Parkland City (Great Cities Commission) and Chair of United Way Australia. She is currently Deputy Chair of the ACT City Renewal Authority and on the boards of the National Portrait Gallery and Australia for UNHCR. She was a partner and General Counsel of PwC and previously worked with major law firms, Mallesons and Linklaters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Law (University Medal) from Sydney University and a Master of Laws (Hons 1) from Cambridge University.

Elizabeth is thrilled to provide scholarships to students to assist them with their studies at Western Sydney University.

Through these scholarships for law students, Elizabeth hopes to encourage talented students to unlock their potential in the legal profession. She knows how her law degree opened so many different opportunities to contribute to business, government and the community here and internationally. Alongside that, she considers more than ever the rule of law here and internationally requires well educated and trained lawyers who understand its societal importance.

Elizabeth hopes these scholarships will enable the recipients to pursue their career dreams and embrace every aspect of life at Western Sydney University, from academic challenge and enlightenment to extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities.

Application and Selection Process

Applications are to be submitted through the Western Sydney University scholarship form.

Applicants must provide a statement supporting their application indicating how they believe receiving the scholarship will assist them with their studies and future careers. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need, and merit.

Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, ability to meet the criteria, and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
