Margaret Duffy

This scholarship is established by Patrick Duffy, Principal Solicitor of Duffy Law Group, a well known local law firm. It is named for his mother, Margaret Duffy, who has a firm belief in the importance of literacy and of excellence in education.

In addition to her four children achieving tertiary academic success, she has, through her educational roles, assisted many children to learn to read and sought to instil in them a love of reading and learning.

This scholarship is a recognition of her commitment over several decades to literacy and education for young people and of her contribution to Patrick’s education and to his career in law.

Application and Selection Process

Applicants must provide a statement supporting their application indicating how they believe receiving the scholarship will assist them with their studies and future careers. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.

Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, ability to meet the criteria, and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.

Further information and how to apply can be found on our High Potential Scholarship page.
