Scentre Group
Scentre Group is the owner of 42 Westfield destinations in Australia and New Zealand. The company was established in 2014 and draws on more than 60 years of its Westfield brand heritage.
Mr Brian Schwartz AM was a non-executive Director of Scentre Group and its Chair between 2016 and 2023 (retired from the Board in September 2023). His executive and non-executive career has spanned more than 50 years.
Scentre Group has established this scholarship in Brian's name in recognition of his exceptional leadership and advocacy for developing high-performing organisational cultures; building organisational capabilities; his commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; and investing in lifelong learning and education that enables individuals to thrive and fulfil their potential.
Scentre Group's Westfield destinations in Western Sydney include Liverpool, Mt Druitt, Parramatta and Penrith, with each playing an integral role in their local communities. Approximately 78% of Western's students are drawn from the region.
Application and Selection Process
Applicants must provide a statement supporting their application indicating how they believe receiving the scholarship will assist them with their studies and future careers. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.
Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, ability to meet the criteria, and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.

- Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 5.0
