Please join us for the 2022 Yarramundi Lecture on Thursday 8 December from 6.30pm at the Sir Ian and Nancy Turbott Auditorium on the Parramatta South campus.
The Yarramundi Lecture celebrates Indigenous history, culture, and achievements. It provides a forum to discuss issues that are of local and national importance. This annual event is central to the University’s longstanding commitment to its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This year’s guest speakers are:
- Thomas Mayor is a Kaurareg Aboriginal and Erubamle, Kalkalgal Torres Strait Islander. He is a signatory to the Uluru Statement from the Heart and is the National Indigenous Officer of the Maritime Union of Australia. Thomas has written and published five books, including Dear Son - Letters and Reflections from First Nations Fathers and Sons.
- Dr Angela Dos Santos is an Australian Stroke Alliance Fellow, Angela is Australia’s first Indigenous neurologist and is a key clinical expert on aeromedical plans at the Melbourne Brain Centre and is co-chair of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership Council.
- Brooke Toli is a Western Sydney University student, Student Ambassador for the Office of Marketing, and a casual tutor for the Badanami Centre of Indigenous Education.
