Description

Human Rights, Big Data and My Health Seminar. The Federal Government's roll out of MyHealth Record has put medical data privacy and confidentiality of health data at the fore of Australia's MyHealth system. It raises questions about consumer confidence in the security of health records particularly as the private health service providers reported the most breaches, ahead of the financial and legal sectors, to the Office of the Australian Information Commission between 1 April and 30 June. In this Seminar a panel of experts will address the impact of Big Data on human rights, privacy and health records, the broader question of how Big Data are used in practice and the government's policies about access and use of health data is a matter of concern.
