NICM Health Research Institute presents Dr Edwin Lim, Senior Research Fellow and Translational Metabolomic Group Lead, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University; and Secretary of the International Society for Tryptophan Research.

Join our guest seminar speaker, Dr Edwin Lim for his presentation, 'The life journey of tryptophan metabolism research: focus on neurodegeneration'. Dr Lim will explore how tryptophan metabolism, an essential amino acid, may contribute to neuropsychiatric events and neurodegenerative disorders across the lifespan from prenatal to the ageing brain.

Dr Lim will also discuss how inflammation, lifestyle factors, and gut microbiota can interact and affects a host’s tryptophan metabolism that can impact the outcomes of various neuropsychiatric symptoms.
