Research

The researchers in the cluster combine interdisciplinary research on religious cultures with events and projects that serve local needs and interests. Through studies of the global, the regional and the local, they are committed to understanding the future of multicultural and multi-faith societies.

They are particularly interested in how religion and spirituality as well as non-religion are manifest in city life in contemporary societies. This is demonstrated by the following seven research streams:

1. Muslims in Contemporary Societies

2. Religion, Globalisation and Transnationalism

  • Global Pentecostal Charismatic Christianities Program

3. Lived Religion and Spiritualities

4. Religion, Sexualities, Gender

  • Health

5. The African Diaspora and Christianity in Australia
