Nature is a Free Gift
Uniting Healthy Living for Seniors Sri Om Program and NSW STARTTS
The Auburn CALD Community Environment Engagement Project engages community leaders to become members of an environmental committee to organise a program of events for their local refugees and migrant communities.
"It is said that nature and nurture works side by side. We are product of our own genetic makeup and the environment. The environment surrounding us and the biosphere in which we breathe and live is very important for our happy, healthy and long life. To support this I also participate in community as a bushcare volunteer and the Sri Om Centre activity 'Plant the Planet' Bingo."
"Sustainable living is reducing your demand over nature. The simple theory is Restore, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. This we understood more in detail during our outing organised by Sri Om – Uniting group with Environmental expert Malikah at Bobbin Head. We discussed biodiversity, growing a veggie patch, compost, natural cleaners, stopping unwanted email and post, solar energy, reducing paper towel and plastic use, fresh food and walking habits. Nature is a free gift given to us by God and in return we must preserve it."
"In the name of progress and development we have so much ammunition to blow the earth basically due to our greed only. In today's world of high rate of development we are able to make our lifestyle more comfortable but at what cost? Water shortages are going to be a problem in near future - let us wish nations don't fight for this. We are burning fossil fuel to sustain our lifestyle, causing health problem, global warming and flooding. It is our time for Holistic and naturopath living."
