Orientation and Induction
Welcome to Western Sydney University
We would like to welcome you warmly to Western Sydney University and congratulate you on your successful appointment.
In your first weeks and months of employment it is important to get to know your new environment and culture as well as your new role.
What is involved in the orientation and induction process?
Your supervisor will provide you with your on-job induction and orientation and will work with you and your new colleagues to make the first days and weeks a positive learning experience.
The following information and resources will also assist you in quickly becoming familiar with the large amount of information you need in your new role:

You will be asked to attend an Orientation session in Frogmore House, on the Werrington North campus.
This session provides an overview of Western Sydney University, its mission and values, governance and organisational structure and key policies, as a broad range of information about working at Western Sydney.
Casual staff should talk with their supervisor about participating in all of the usual aspects of induction and orientation, unless a brief, local induction would be sufficient for the role.

Your supervisor will also arrange for you to meet colleagues and key people in and related to your work unit.
Professional development - what training is available?
Some courses, such as the University's Workplace Health and Safety modules, are compulsory for staff members. Refer to the Orientation and Induction courses page to find out which courses are compulsory.
How does Western Sydney University manage equity and fairness issues?
