CPP Application Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement sets out how we will handle the personal information you provide to us in your Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) application.

Collection of personal information

The personal information we may collect from you includes:

  • Your name
  • Your student number
  • Your enrolment and academic information
  • Your employment information
  • Financial information, including your entitlement to income support payments and other income
  • Information about exceptional circumstances, if required
  • Information about your carer responsibilities

If you elect not to provide the personal information required, we will not be able to assess whether you are eligible for the CPP, and your application may be declined.

Use of personal information

We use your information to assess whether you are eligible for a CPP.  This includes assessing your need to work, assessing your income against the CPP threshold, assessing any other financial support you may be receiving and evaluating any exceptional circumstances that apply.  If you are eligible, we also use your information to process your CPP payments.

Sharing and disclosure of personal information

Your information will be shared with:

The Commonwealth Department of Education or its contracted parties, including to assess eligibility for CPP for exceptional circumstances applications, administer payments, facilitate program audits and evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
Third-party service providers we engage to administer the program.

Other Commonwealth agencies involved in the administration of the CPP program, such as the Australian Taxation Office.
