Any Western Sydney University undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree, or Foundation Studies, Diploma or Associate Degree at The College
Criteria
Applicants must;
- be Australian citizens or permanent residents
- have been issued a permanent humanitarian visa within the last five years
- receive an offer to study or be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in any year of an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at Western Sydney University, or Foundation Studies, Diploma or Associate Degree at The College
Western Sydney University
The Western Sydney University Refugee Scholarship was established to provide ongoing support to talented and hardworking students from a refugee or asylum seeker background.
Recipients of Refugee Scholarships embody the spirit of Western Sydney University, overcoming adversity and sometimes harrowing circumstances to access opportunities for themselves and their families through education. Refugee Scholarships are funded through the generous donations of staff, students, alumni and friends of the University.
Applications and Selection Process
Applicants must provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the receipt of the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit. Applicants must provide a copy of the 'Document to Travel to Australia' or Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) letter from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
