Paul J Keating Scholarship
$10,000 per year for three years
New and continuing students
Studying a course that has a humanities, social science, psychology or cognitive discipline and is a defining characteristic of the degree.
- have received an offer to study at Western Sydney University where the humanities, social sciences, psychology or cognate disciplines are a defining characteristic of the degree
- live in Western Sydney
- come from a disadvantaged (low SES) background
- demonstrate a history of academic excellence (via a GPA of 6.0 and/or equivalent ATAR).
Applications and Selection Process
Applicants must demonstrate how they meet the above criteria and include a 500 word submission detailing how they intend to spend the scholarship funds. Preference will be given to applicants that can demonstrate how the scholarship will empower them to pursue their studies and improve their overall student experience. Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet criteria and where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
The recipient must remain enrolled in the required course (that is no less than 20 credit points per semester).
The recipient is expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress by passing all subject attempts and maintaining a Pass average (GPA 4.0 or greater) for the duration of the scholarship.
If any of the specified conditions are not met, the recipient status and continuation of the scholarship will be assessed and determined by the Donor in consultation with the University.
