Criteria

Applicants must:

  • identify as female.
  • be commencing study in the first year of the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning.
  • demonstrate financial or other hardship as assessed by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

Financial Planning Association of Australia

The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) (opens in a new window) has been selected to deliver the Government's Women in Finance and Economics Scholarship Program, an extension of its Women's Leadership and Development Program.

The FPA believe that high quality education is an important part of raising financial planning standards and building consumer confidence in our profession and look forward to working with WSU to administer these scholarships.

The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) is the primary membership organisation for financial planning practitioners who want to master the practice of financial planning, and who are committed to shaping the future of the profession.

As part of this continued commitment to excellence and with support from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women, FPA wish to provide meaningful equity opportunities for our students in pursuing finance and economics education.

Application and Selection Process

Applicants must provide a written statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.

Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
