Estate Planning and Strategy

Liverpool campus

Estate Planning and Strategy is part of the Division of Infrastructure and Commercial and is driven by the University’s large-scale and transformative Western Growth strategy.

Our role is to support the University in reshaping the campus network to deliver accessible, technology-infused vertical campuses in the region's CBDs and building on the unique characteristics of our horizontal campuses as part of existing brownfield or emerging precincts.

We plan and design our campuses as places for learning, teaching and research, and for partnership with government, industry and community.

Through our strategic and project planning we deliver outcomes that positively influence social, economic and environmental outcomes as designers, city-shapers and urbanists contributing to the University as co-creators of Western Sydney.

The Division ensures that we use the most up to date and sustainability efficient design principles.  The University has Architectural, Hydraulic and Fittings standards have been prepared to assist in the design and documentation of Western Sydney University Projects. They provide direction and guidance regarding the University’s requirements and enable our Project Managers and consultants to implement University requirements into acceptable design solutions.

All of our Standards include references to water conservation, energy efficiency and ecological sustainable design. Designs shall incorporate the relevant technologies to develop and implement strategies to minimise energy use, potable and general water consumption. For example, all general use (non-laboratory) taps, toilets and appliances in the Fittings Standard have WELS water-use ratings.
