Opening Ceremony for WFAS Symposium held at NICM HRI

In June 2024, a delegation of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), led by Professor Baoyan Liu visited NICM HRI. During the visit, NICM HRI hosted a research symposium in collaboration with WFAS and the Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Society of Australia. The symposium attracted over 100 attendees, including clinicians, GPs, TCM practitioners, TCM educators, researchers, and research students. Science Consul, Mr Jianmin Jin from the Chinese Consulate General and the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Administration of TCM of China, Mr Zhendou Wu delivered an address at the symposium.

WFAS is a non-governmental international union of acupuncture-moxibustion societies that maintains official relations with the World Health Organization and A-level liaison with the International Organization for Standardization. During the visit, NICM HRI has signed a memorandum of understanding with WFAS aiming to strengthen collaboration in acupuncture research in the future.
