NICM HRI partners with Standards Australia to host the 14th ISO/TC249

NICM HRI partnered with Standards Australia to host the 14th ISO/TC249 (traditional Chinese medicine) plenary meeting from 2nd to 6th June under the sponsorship of Tasly Pharmaceutica Group Co., Ltd. The conference was held between 2 and 6 June in the Peter Shergold Building, Parramatta City Campus, Western Sydney University.

More than 100 delegates from Australia, China, Canada, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and other countries attended the conference in person or online.

ISO TC249 committee was established in 2009 and has 23 participating country members and 23 observing members around the world. The committee aims to explore the "standardisation" of medical systems derived from ancient Chinese medicine, which, one day will share one common set of standards. The committee focuses on the quality and safety of raw materials, manufactured products, medical devices and informatics.

During the conference, numerous attendees visited NICM HRI's research facilities at Westmead.
