SAR’s 2017 Most Outstanding Junior Researcher in Clinical Research

NICM's Jacka Foundation Senior Research Fellow, Dr Carolyn Ee has been awarded the Most Outstanding Junior Researcher in Clinical Research at the Society for Acupuncture Research Congress held in San Francisco in April.

She was awarded for her presentation entitled "Expectancy did not predict outcome in a randomised controlled trial of acupuncture for hot flashes.

Dr Ee also received a SAR Travel Scholarship to attend the conference, which was an invaluable opportunity for her to meet prominent researchers in the field.

The 2017 SAR's Congress explored how the Precision Medicine Initiative can benefit from research on acupuncture and traditional East Asian medicine, as well as how ideas emerging from personalised medicine can help better explore individual variability and responders / non-responders that have been a hallmark of clinical and mechanistic acupuncture research studies.
