Congratulations: Promotions and new roles

25 March 2020

Congratulations to Associate Professor Genevieve Steiner and Dr Mike Armour for their recent promotion and appointment to new roles in 2020 at NICM Health Research Institute (NICM HRI).

Associate Professor Steiner was promoted in January to her current title, and further in March has been appointed as the Institute’s new Director of Research, an added role to her current position as NHMRC-ARC Dementia Research Development Fellow, and Neurocognition Laboratory Lead at NICM HRI.

“I am excited to contribute to the Institute in this new role, and I am most looking forward to working more closely with our talented researchers to nurture their ideas and inspirations and expand on NICM’s fabulous successes and upward trajectory,” said Associate Professor Steiner.

Dr Mike Armour was also promoted earlier in January to Senior Research Fellow, and has been formally appointed this month as the Institute’s Higher Degree Research (HDR) Coordinator, a position he has informally been acting in.

“HDR students are burgeoning scholars who are breaking some amazing new ground with their exciting and innovative projects, and I really look forward to supporting them to make the most of their academic journey with us at the institute,” said Dr Armour.

NICM HRI would like to extend its appreciation and gratitude to Professor Jerome Sarris for his dedication and contribution in undertaking both of these very broad responsibilities previously.
