Dr Low is an established mid-career researcher who has worked in NICM Health Research Institute's for ten years. He has acquired cross disciplinary technical skills as Laboratory manager of the GMP testing laboratory and a Research fellow. Dr Low has conducted research in the field of natural products chemistry as part of his doctoral studies and has contributed to the field with 20 peer reviewed publications. He has led 60 research projects with total research income over $1.8M.

He is also co-investigators on over $4M worth of research. He is on the scientific advisory board of two research companies and has multiple patents associated with his research. His research spans novel ingredient identification and characterisation (analytical and pharmacological), product development, early-stage clinical study and supporting clinical studies. His research expertise is well regarded local and internationally providing scientific review for WHO guidelines and local TGA training. He has made multiple televised appearances on the SBS series Myth or Medicine as well as national news. He is currently supervising a wide range of HDR research with 5 PhD and 3 Masters candidates.
