Pharmacological investigation of crocin in ischemic stroke via human astrocytic signalling pathways and mechanisms
Stroke is the third leading cause of death in Australia and to date, there is no potential cure for this disease. The aim of this project is to investigate crocin, a major compound found in saffron (Crocus Sativus. L), and its mechanism of action in human cells lines under stroke conditions. This project also aims to elucidate potential target sights for the treatment of stroke.
