Western Sydney University community comes together at Christmas

Western Sydney University has again run its annual Chancellor’s Christmas Toy Appeal. After a long year of uncertainty across the globe, the appeal will help many western Sydney families in need this holiday season.
Thanks to the continued generosity and support of the Western Sydney University community, almost 1000 toys were collected, in accordance with COVID safe measures.
Western Sydney University is pleased to have again partnered with three western Sydney community groups, Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections, Nepean Community and Neighbourhood Services and Parramatta Mission.
Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections runs over 60 programs for the Liverpool community and surroundings suburbs. These programs range from playgroups to vacation care programs and homework support groups.
Nepean Community and Neighbourhood Services are the largest provider of Indigenous services for children in the Penrith area. They also provide a number of family programs including early intervention and social inclusion.
Parramatta Mission work closely with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in the Parramatta area. Their mission is to help people and families that are homeless or at risk of homelessness and those families facing crisis or living with mental illness.
The charities will distribute the toys to disadvantaged children and teenagers in the Greater Western Sydney region in time for Christmas.
Chancellor, Professor Peter Shergold AC, would like to thank all staff and students who have donated and continued to support the Chancellor's Christmas Toy Appeal.
