The University of Western Sydney Solar Car Team was welcomed home by staff and students recently at a barbecue on the Kingswood campus.

The Team arrived back on their home soil after spending almost a month competing in the World Solar Challenge(opens in a new window) - the pinnacle of solar races as a 3,000km race from Darwin to Adelaide against some of the most prestigious universities and companies from around the globe.

The Team was joined by Rhonda Hawkins, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Strategy and Services), Angelo Kourtis, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students & International), and Professor Jonathan Tapson, Deputy Dean School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics as they spent time speaking with other students and staff about their car SolAce and their World Solar Challenge experience.

The Team already have their sights set on the 2015 World Solar Challenge and their journey can continue to be followed via their Facebook page(opens in a new window).
