UWSCollege at Lithgow pushes forward with the appointment of a Provost
The University of Western Sydney’s Outreach Campus at Lithgow, which is scheduled to open in late 2013, has just appointed a Provost to supervise and oversee day-to-day operations.
Anne Forster has worked in the higher education sector for over thirty years and held both academic and management roles, she has also worked as an independent consultant in Australia and overseas.
Anne is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Faculty of the University of Maryland University College where she has taught online in the Master of Distance Education and e-Learning degree.
Anne's previous positions have been with the University of Sydney, Bond University and the Australian Graduate School of Management. Her work as a consultant has focused on institutional change, entrepreneurial program development and e-learning strategy.
Dr Kerry Hudson, Chief Executive Officer of UWSCollege, is thrilled to have Anne join the College.
“We are proud to welcome someone of her calibre who has internationally recognised expertise in e-learning and working with disadvantaged groups,” says Dr Hudson.
“Anne will commence with us on 8 January 2013 and will be based initially in Sydney but will travel regularly to Lithgow.”
“I am looking forward to working with her to progress the development of the campus which is expected to open October/November 2013.”
Anne admits to a great deal of attachment to the Central Tablelands of New South Wales.
“My family history has followed the course of the Cox's River from the Burragorang Valley to Megalong Valley and more recently to the Upper Blue Mountains,” says Anne.
“I am really looking forward to developing an innovative campus of UWSCollege for the people in Lithgow and surrounding areas.”
UWSCollege is a wholly owned entity of the University of Western Sydney, and offers academic pathways to the University, continuing education and professional development programs for Australian and International students.
UWSCollege is responsible for the management of the UWS Outreach Campus opening in Lithgow in 2013.
