Western Sydney University celebrates September graduations

Spring Graduation 2018

Recent graduands of Western Sydney University will formerly celebrate the success of completing their degree at the University’s September graduation ceremonies.

Over 2,000 students will be donning cap and gown to receive their degrees from a range of disciplines including nursing and midwifery, education, business, law, medicine, science and health, computing, engineering and mathematics. Forty students will graduate with post-doctoral degrees and four University Medals will also be awarded over the 10 ceremonies.

Held across three days at Western Sydney University's Parramatta South campus, graduation provides an opportunity for family and friends to recognise the achievement and commitment of students, many of whom are the first in family to partake in higher education.

Graduands will hear a range of distinguished guest speakers deliver the Occasional Address, which is a highlight of each graduation ceremony.

An Honorary Doctorate of Letters will be presented to Professor Anlong Xu, President of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

Bashar Hanna, Western Sydney University alumnus and founder of music therapy groups The Choir of Love and The Peacemakers will be awarded a Community Fellowship for his work with refugee and migrant community groups in the South-West Sydney region.
