James was born in the United Kingdom, but spent most of his childhood in Africa, where he soon developed a deep fascination with wildlife and the environment. Studying zoology at Oxford University, and completing his doctorate in entomology at Imperial College London, James’s research has been focused on the ecology, behaviour, genetics and evolution of insects, and their interactions with plants. He recently joined the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, where his work will be crucial for understanding and managing the environment in our rapidly changing world.
