Community Award recipient, Helen Rachel Campbell OAM

Helen Rachel Campbell OAM receives the UWS Community Award for her ongoing dedicated community service provided through the Redfern Legal Centre.

The Redfern Legal Centre is an independent, non-for-profit community centre dedicated to promoting social justice and human rights. The centre offers free legal advice, referral and casework to disadvantaged individuals and groups.

The Redfern Legal Centre is dedicated to providing community legal education and advocates for the reform of inequalities in law, the legal system, administrative practices and society as a whole. The RLC’s also provide volunteer opportunities and pro bono support. 

Helen is now the CEO for Women’s Legal Services NSW, and is a practising solicitor with various organisations including the Aboriginal Legal Services Ltd and the Blue Mountains Community Legal Centre.

Notwithstanding Helen’s CEO responsibilities, Helen continues volunteering with the Katoomba Neighbourhood Centre, Blue Mountains Community Arts Centre and the Upper Mountains Youth Centre.
