Western Sydney University continues to rise in world rankings

Western Sydney University has continued to rise in world rankings after being named one of the world’s top 300 universities in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2019-2020.

The University moved into the 251-300 band, firmly placing it within the top two per cent of universities worldwide.

The 2019 THE World University Rankings is a global university league table that ranks research-intensive universities across each of the following core areas: teaching; research; international outlook; and industry and community engagement. The rankings use 13 performance indicators to assess a university's strengths in each of these areas.

The 2019-2020 results saw an improvement by Western Sydney University across all assessable key areas.

Western Sydney University Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover AO, says the latest results reaffirm the University’s reputation as a world-class institution.

“As we celebrate our 30th year, our University is being globally recognised for our world-leading research, our innovative learning, and our excellent staff.

“These results attest to Western Sydney University’s continued commitment to making a real impact in the communities that we serve, and producing career-ready graduates for today’s modern workplace.”
