Find out how postgraduate studies can unlock a meaningful career

Charlotte Tipple NCSL 2

Growing up Charlotte Tipple aspired to be everything from an actress to a doctor. Postgraduate studies at Western Sydney University unlocked a fulfilling career in research for her.

Currently completing a Master of Research (Microbiology) at the University, she believes further study is a journey not a means to an end.

“I absolutely love studying with the University – it has given me opportunities I never even knew were possible,” said Charlotte.

Individuals wanting to take the next step in their careers are encouraged to attend Western Sydney University’s Postgraduate Information Sessions online, 18 October to 17 November, to learn more about what the University has to offer.

For Charlotte, studying a postgraduate degree helped her take her career to the next level and has grown her passion for research and teaching.

“I have always been fascinated by science; there is always something new to learn and each day you work to increase knowledge and make the world a better place,” she said.

“These last few years have really highlighted how it is now more important than ever to be able to effectively communicate science to the general public, a motivating factor in my decision to study a master’s and teach.”

Overcoming her own health issues while studying, Charlotte said the ethos of the University aligns very strongly to her own values as a student and teacher.

“Western Sydney University has so many support services in place to assist students, such as counselling, disability support, and student welfare to name a few.”

The Postgraduate Information Sessions provide information about postgraduate study and how to apply at Western, as well as opportunities to meet with course experts and current students.

Information will be available on a wide range of student services and support provided by the University, including counselling and wellbeing, and childcare.
