Find your next step at Western Sydney University’s Open Day

Choosing a university is one of the biggest decisions a student will make, and Western Sydney University’s Open Day is designed to help future students experience it for themselves.

From 10am–4pm on Sunday 5 July at the Parramatta South campus, thousands of prospective students along with their families and friends, will explore courses, meet academics, connect with current students and discover why so many say, “I chose Western” – finding their fit, their people and their next step.

Proudly shaped by the communities of Western Sydney, the University reflects one of Australia's most diverse regions, being home to Australia’s largest urban Indigenous population and people from all over the world, with more than 170 languages spoken.

Two-thirds of the Western’s students are the first in their families to attend university, creating a welcoming community where students from all backgrounds can thrive, belong and succeed.

At Open Day, students can experience uni life for themselves by stepping inside the classroom and taking part in interactive demonstrations in high-tech teaching spaces including state-of-the art labs, nursing simulators, a moot courtroom, a professional-grade TV studio, plus more.

Friendly team members from scholarships, admissions and our student support services, will also be on hand to answer any questions, while the Future Career Zone will connect students with industry experts and future employers to help them explore career pathways.

You'll meet like-minded people and future classmates and friends. Check out a range of vibrant student clubs and sports teams – there are many opportunities at Western to make meaningful connections on campus.

From the moment you arrive the campus will be buzzing with activity, including plenty of exciting entertainment, live music, and delicious food options including free cannoli and macarons, interactive experiences including a giant photo mosaic wall, AI Selfie Sketches, and even a rock-climbing wall.

There are exciting prizes to win when you check in. From coffee cups and water bottles to portable chargers and exclusive Western merch, these prizes will keep you powered through study, work and everything in between.

For high school students, the event is perfectly timed ahead of HSC trials. Students can find out about Western’s HSC True Reward early entry program and how your Year 11 and Year 12 results could unlock an early conditional offer to study at the University.

Open Day will once again be powered by a dedicated AI assistant, called ODIE, helping to navigate the event with ease – whether finding sessions, locating check-in points, or planning personalised itineraries.

Visitors can discover why Western Sydney University has been recognised for its commitment to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Western Sydney University has placed third in the world reinforcing its ongoing dedication to driving positive community impact in the 2026 Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Open Day will include eco-friendly initiatives like refillable water stations and waste minimisation across the campus.

Getting to Open Day is simple with train, metro and light rail transport included with the free event ticket, or free parking available at Rosehill Racecourse with an easy light rail journey or short walk to the campus.
