Western Sydney University was proud to host the second annual Chancellor’s Golf Day, which brought together supporters, advocates, and alumni to raise funds for Coaching Unlimited, an innovative sports coaching education and health promotion program.
The event, presented by Walker Corporation, raised $60,000 in support of this transformative initiative, which was created in collaboration with First Nations coaches, national sports organisations, and university researchers.
Among the special guests was trailblazing Indigenous Australian golfer and Western procurement officer, Skye Lampton, a Dagoman, Wardaman, and Gurindji woman from Katherine in the Northern Territory, who joined participants at one of the most esteemed golf courses in Western Sydney, designed by legendary golfer Peter Thomson.
Chancellor, Professor Jennifer Westacott AO expressed her gratitude to the University’s generous supporters and alumni who took part in the day.
“As a result of the collective support and generosity of our partners and community, we are able to commit $60,000 to Coaching Unlimited, a transformational program that is helping take the leadership of Indigenous sports coaches across Australia to the next level,” said Professor Westacott.
