Dr Andy Marks appointed NUW Alliance CEO

The NUW Alliance has appointed Dr Andy Marks as Chief Executive Officer to lead the next stage of major strategic initiatives secured by outgoing CEO, Matt Gijselman.

Dr Marks takes up the CEO role alongside his ongoing responsibilities as Assistant Vice-Chancellor and Director of the Centre for Western Sydney at Western Sydney University.

With an extensive record of leadership in policy development, government advocacy and strategic communications, Dr Marks brings considerable knowledge, experience and networks to the role at a critical time.

The NUW Alliance is a strategic grouping of the University of Newcastle, UNSW Sydney, the University of Wollongong and Western Sydney University, drawing together a network of nearly 200,000 students, 14,500 staff, at over 40 locations, driving in excess of $850 million in transformative research.

Having secured Commonwealth investment in its industry-engaged Multiversity at the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, the NUW Alliance is entering a pivotal phase. Implementation of current initiatives will be boosted by the development of broader value-adding partnerships with industry, government and the community.
