As a Science graduate you can look forward to career opportunities in a range of areas including science-based work in industry, Government environmental agencies, forensic science, patent work and quality control.

Career options as a Medical Science graduate include positions in medical research, hospital, and pathology laboratories, Government health departments, scientific sales, and quality assurance. Graduate entry into secondary teaching (with further study) is also a possibility. This degree also provides a strong foundation for students wishing to pursue medicine.

The advanced program for both Science and Medical Science is designed for high-achieving students wanting to extend their studies. You will undertake advanced coursework topics, extension activities and additional research-based training. Students in the Advanced degree program are automatically enrolled in The Academy which offers interdisciplinary leadership programs, professional development and local and international internship and engagement opportunities for students.

Career opportunities include forensic scientists, crime scene investigators, private investigators and consultants, police officers, drug analysts, researchers and academics, and specialised forensic science practitioners. The main employers of forensic scientists are State and Federal police services, State and Commonwealth Government Health Departments and analytical chemistry laboratories. Graduates will be versatile with a wide skills base with (depending on their choice of electives) potential for employment in analytical chemistry and microbiology, quality control and assurance, biochemistry and molecular biology, scientific research, education, and the chemical industry.

Career opportunities include nutritionist, nutritional scientist, consumer relations, food quality assurance, new food product development, and food technology secondary teaching. The program has strong industry and community links, well-equipped facilities including food processing pilot plant and modern kitchen facilities.
