Course Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Students complete the first 2 years of the Bachelor of Policing course at Western Sydney University.
  2. In 2nd year, students complete the University Certificate of Workforce Essentials (UCWE) and commence the NSW Police Application Process. In order for students to receive highest ranking for academic eligibility, they need to receive a High Distinction grade for the UCWE assessment.
  3. Students must first complete the Eligibility Quiz to assess if they meet the basic requirements to commence an application to the NSW Police Force.
  4. Successful completion of 2 years of the Bachelor of Policing will result in the awarding of maximum academic points in the police recruitment process.
  5. Once passed the Police Academy training in Goulburn (physical training and ADDP), students will receive most of the credits towards completing 3rd year at Western Sydney University.

Career opportunities include careers in policing, other Commonwealth or state law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, intelligence agencies, border protection, security management, fraud management, as well as investigation roles within the corporate or local government sectors.

As a graduate of this course, you can pursue a broad range of career opportunities in crime research, law enforcement, community development, corrections, youth work, policy development and government agencies.

Graduate ready for a thriving career in cyber security and intelligence, including data and security analyst, ethical hacker or cyber policy maker. Cyber security graduates will be equipped to pursue careers and be employed by companies as cyber security professionals, who protect employees and assets from cyber-attack and cyber incivility.

Graduates are also employed in cybercrime analytics roles including cyber safety officer, data security, security analyst, risk analytics, cyber policing, cyber intelligence, intelligence analytics and terror informatics.
