The Western Sydney University School of Medicine provides Medical Clerkship opportunities at both Blacktown/Mt Druitt Hospital and Campbelltown Hospital.
2024 Clerkship applications are open.
Applications will be considered for placement commencement from mid 2024 (pending placement availability).
There is no capacity for a commencement date in the first half of 2024.

Medical Clerkship Application form
Application forms must be submitted via email to
medicineclerkship@westernsydney.edu.auNo supporting documentation is required at time of application submission.
When corresponding with Western Sydney University, you must use your home university student email.
Overview
- Clerkships are offered for a period of 4-6 weeks only in order to develop further experience and skills in chosen disciplines.
- We do not accept clerkship students during the months of January or December.
Eligibility
- Students must be in their final or penultimate year with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
- The Clerkship placement needs to be a requirement of your Medicine degree.
- You are currently in good academic standing and have the support of your current Dean of Medicine.
- Applications must be received at least 6 months in advance.
- NSW Health requirements must be met for you to be accepted (this will be discussed if there is an offer made)

- International students who are offered a Clerkship placement must arrive 5 business days prior to placement commencement to finalise NSW Health Compliance requirements.
Supporting documentation (required if a placement is offered)
- Letter of Academic Standing stating you have 2 years of clinical experience and your expected graduation date
- Academic Transcript
- Proof of proficiency in verbal and written English (required for International students)
- Proof of insurance - Supporting documentation from home university confirming on placement coverage
Fees
- Western Sydney University does not currently charge any administration or application fees.
Accommodation
- You're responsible for all travel and living expenses, including accommodation.
