MARCS Monday Meeting (MMM) Room 3.G.55 (Building 3)
Research Impact Competition
How would you like to win a $2500 travel grant to spend this year just for giving a 5 minute presentation?
MARCS will be hosting an internal competition “knock out round” at the MMM on the 25th June; with the finalist going forward to the main university competition on October 23rd at 1PSQ. Our MARCS finalist from 2017 Sandra Garrido has kindly agreed to act as judge in this capacity, along with three MARCS colleagues (TBA).
MARCS researchers from each Research Program (S&L, MCA, BENS, MSP, HMI) are encouraged to participate in this valuable opportunity to showcase our impressive research strengths with a $2500 travel grant for the winner and a $1000 travel grant for the runner up (to be spent in 2018).
The Research Impact Competition is a university led initiative to highlight research activity across the university, giving researchers experience in presenting their research to non-specialist audiences in a 5 minute pitch with the opportunity to win a $5K research grant. This is open to Levels A, B and C who are active researchers who have published in the past 18 months.
Details of the competition, including judging criteria and rules are attached.
You must register your interest in participating with Dr Karen Hutchings by Monday 4th June.
MARCS Students and Academic Staff are reminded that MMMs have an important role in building and maintaining the sense of community which is central to the success of MARCS as a cooperative and energetic research institute. Your attendance is both welcomed and expected.
