Dr Tamara Rathcke

Biography
Dr Tamara Rathcke is a senior lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Kent/UK. As a phonetician, shestudies spoken language and non-verbal means of communication. Her research focuses on prosodic aspects of speech, and she is particularly interested in understanding links that connect language with music.
Purpose of Visit
Dr Rathcke will be visiting Professor Peter Keller and his group, to discuss her ongoing research on
sensorimotor synchronisation with language. The main aim of this research is to unveil the acoustic and structural bases of rhythm perception across prosodically diverse languages.
