Battell Professor of Music Theory at Yale University. Music theorist with publications on chromatic harmony, music meter, atonal pitch-class theory, Schenkerian theory, mathematical models. Founding editor of Oxford Studies in Music Theory. Former Executive Editor, Journal of Music Theory. Former Chair, Department of Music, University of Chicago

Purpose of Visit

Professor Cohn is visiting Dr Andy Milne to collaborate on research.  Professor Cohn's research interests are geometrical models of musical rhythm and meter, and their applications to mathematics and music curricula in secondary schools.
