Dr Pelle Söderström

Biography
After completing his Master's degree in Russian Linguistics, Pelle Söderström was awarded a PhD in General Linguistics at Lund University in 2017, with the title Prosody and Prediction in Neural Speech Processing. He is currently a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the MARCS Institute, Western Sydney University. His research focuses on topics in psycho- and neurolinguistics. Using electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), as well as behavioural methods, Dr Söderström investigates predictive processing in areas such as spoken word recognition, prosody, syntax and morphology.
Purpose of Visit
As a visiting postdoctoral fellow funded by the Swedish Research Council, Dr Söderström is currently working with Professor Anne Cutler, investigating the neurophysiological correlates of spoken word recognition and prediction.
