Neuromorphic Sensors for Space Situational Awareness
The aim of my research is to determine whether neuromorphic sensors offer improvements over traditional optical sensors for space situational awareness. More specifically, I am investigating whether they can be used to effectively characterise satellites by remotely identifying their constituent materials, discriminating between them or characterising their behaviour. I will also be investigating whether fusing optical neuromorphic data with passive radar data provides a means for more accurate and/or rapid initial orbit determination of newly discovered space objects than current means.
